To commemorate the sacrifices of the language martyrs of the great language movement and to pay tribute to all the languages of the world, Dhaka University Film Society organizes the ‘Amar Bhashar Chalachitro’ every year. ‘Amar Bhashar Cholochitro’ has been playing an important role in presenting the golden history of Bengali cinema and contemporary Bengali cinema to the audience. 

Since 2002 Dhaka University Film Society has been organizing this festival. In commemoration of Hiralal Sen, the first filmmaker of the subcontinent, an award has been given by Dhaka University Film Society since 2017. It has become the biggest Bengali film festival. Every year audiences from various backgrounds participate in this colorful festival to witness the vibrant color of Bengali cinema.
